Achim Szepanski legt eine umfassende Studie zur Logik und Existenzweise des Kapitals im 21. Jahrhundert vor. Er bemüht sich um ein radikal marxistisches Verständnis der intrinsischen Rolle, welche das moderne Finanzsystem für den gegenwärtigen Kapitalismus spielt. Wenn das Kapitalprinzip der Motor des atmenden Monsters namens Gesamtkapital ist, dann ist das finanzielle System dessen Zentralnervensystem.
Das neoliberale Modell der Finanzialisierung erweist sich als ein Bündel von effektiven Strategien, durch die seit den 1970er Jahren die ökonomische Weltordnung umstrukturiert, globalisiert und vertieft wird. Diese Ordnung besteht aus komplexen Netzwerken, in denen die Großbanken mit ihrer Potenz zur Kreditschöpfung, die Versicherungen und die Hedgefonds wichtige Positionen einnehmen. Diese Institutionen betreiben im 24/7-Modus die Vermehrung des spekulativen Kapitals, dessen Instrumente die Derivate sind.
Selbst in ihren differenziertesten Versionen stehen die Derivate für eine neue Form des spekulativen Geldkapitals und eine Technologie des abstrakten Risikos, das die kapitalistischen Machtbeziehungen weltweit organisiert. Das spekulative Kapital produziert nicht nur die Bedingungen der eigenen Kreisläufe, sondern dringt tief in die Strukturen der industriellen Produktion und in das alltägliche Leben ein. Das Finanzsystem muss schließlich in der Funktion eines führenden produktiven Players in der Weltökonomie untersucht werden, um die Logik und Existenzweise des globalen Kapitals zu verstehen.
Achim Szepanski is presenting an extensive study on the logic and the existence of the capital in the 21st century. He strives for a radically Marxist understanding of the intrinsic role that the modern financial system plays for present capitalism. If the capitalist principle is the engine of the breathing monster called total capital, then the financial system is its central nervous system.
The neoliberal financialization model proves to be a bundle of effective strategies through which the economic world order has been restructured, globalized and developed. This order consists of complex networks where large banks, with their power of credit formation, insurance companies and hedge funds occupy important positions. These institutions drive the increase of speculative capital on a 24/7 basis, the instruments of which are derivatives.
Even in their most exotic forms, derivatives represent a new form of speculative money capital and a technology of abstract risk, which organizes capitalist power relations worldwide. Speculative capital not only creates the conditions of its own cycles, but also deeply penetrates the structures of industrial production and man’s everyday life. The financial system must finally be examined as a leading player in world economy, in order to understand the logic and the existence of global capital.
